Forge Conducting is a UK-based choir conductor mentorship and training platform. The client needed a fully functional paywalled newsletter system on Kajabi — launching from scratch with no existing infrastructure in place.
Problem
The client had developed their first newsletter inside Kajabi's default newsletter template area. This caused every design change to override all issues globally — making it impossible to treat each issue as a distinct, independently designed piece of content. The entire infrastructure needed rebuilding the right way.
Challenge
Kajabi is built for courses, not newsletters. Delivering a monthly newsletter with subscriber-based drip (every new subscriber always starts at Issue 1 regardless of when they join) required a custom architecture using 3 Kajabi systems working together... Landing Pages, Course Products, and Offer/Membership configuration.

Membership & Paywall Setup
Configured a £12/month recurring Kajabi offer with native billing
Set up 2 free issues accessible on signup before payment kicks in
Enabled and tested discount codes for selective member pricing
Drip Access Design
Developed subscriber-based drip using Kajabi's enrollment date logic
Every new subscriber unlocks Issue 1 on Day 0, Issue 2 on Day 30, Issue 3 on Day 60 — regardless of when they joined
Ensures late subscribers never access future issues they haven't paid for yet
Landing Page System
Developed a Master Newsletter Template as a reusable base — client duplicates it monthly with 1 click
Each issue exists as a standalone landing page with a unique, hard-to-guess URL slug
SEO visibility disabled per issue — pages hidden from Google to prevent non-subscriber access
Full design freedom per issue — modular sections, hero, content blocks, CTA
Course Product Integration
Developed The Forge Newsletter Archive as the central members-only hub
Each issue lesson contains a branded CTA button linking to that month's landing page
Comments disabled per lesson for clean member experience
Automated Email Notifications
Configured Kajabi's drip notification email system
Customised the default "course content available" template into a branded newsletter announcement
Dynamic variables pull subscriber name, issue title, and direct access link automatically
Drip time and timezone configured — emails deliver at 10am in client's selected timezone
Documentation & Handover
Delivered a full written step-by-step documentation covering all 4 phases — page creation, archive update, drip scheduling, and email setup
Recorded and delivered a Loom video walkthrough covering the complete system
Client can independently publish every future issue without developer dependency
Result
A fully independent, scalable newsletter infrastructure... every issue is a distinct asset, access is locked behind a paywall, drip delivery runs automatically, and the client manages future issues solo using the master template and documentation.
